CHARACTER RIGGING

The Character Rigging Course complements the Character Design and Creation course by training students to add skeletal structures to their character models. Students learn the techniques involved with the creation of the character setup by developing character rigs and skeletal structures used in character animation. The ultimate goal of character rigging is to prepare a modeled character for motion without the motion animator needing to know the details of the character’s setup.

COLLEGE MATHEMATICS

The College Mathematics Course teaches students a wide spectrum of math concepts which are designed to build upon math basics learned in high school and/or in earlier studies. Globally useful algebra and geometry skills are developed, and students experience new and pertinent content while exploring probability and statistics. In addition, problem solving is emphasized during and through the logic component of the course.

COMMUNICATIONS

In this course, students will expand their structural control of language while gaining wide cultural knowledge. During the course, students are assigned research projects, analytical writing, and oral presentations, giving them the opportunity to develop writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills. These projects assist students in developing social awareness, historical perspective, scientific competence, moral understanding, and analytical and critical thinking. Ethnic and cultural diversity are explored as a way to further prepare students for participating in the global community.

COMPOSITING AND SCENE FINISHING

The Compositing and Scene Finishing Course broadens the base of students’ knowledge by offering them insight into the process of combining their computer-generated imagery with audio and video elements. By learning what happens when rendered imagery is integrated into the postproduction process, students better understand the guidelines of compositing and scene finishing.

COMPUTER ANIMATION PROJECT I

The his course allows students to use their talent, skills, and imagination to create a professional animated sequence based on their submitted storyboards. This course will develop the students’ overall knowledge of computer animation workflow, pipeline, and production, and teach them to use that knowledge in the creation of an animated sequence. The project is run in a production environment where it must be completed within set deadlines while utilizing available resources. The course prepares students for the methods, environments, and conditions experienced in the production arena.

COMPUTER ANIMATION PROJECT II
